Toronto is a lakeside suburb and commercial hub in the City of Lake Macquarie, about 102 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. The Boulevarde is the main town street on the western shore of Lake Macquarie, serving surrounding communities with road and bus connections towards Newcastle, Sydney and Fassifern railway station.

Toronto has an office and consulting market, with office suites and floors and medical or consulting suites serving a broad lakeside catchment. Warehouses and factories also suit the employment areas beyond the town centre. Belmont, Warners Bay and Boolaroo are nearby comparisons.
