Tennyson is a southern riverside suburb in the City of Brisbane, about 7 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. Lofter Street and Walker Street sit in a low-lying area on the southern bank of the Brisbane River, with the former Tennyson railway station and Moolabin Yard reflecting the suburb's rail and freight connections.

Tennyson is an industrial and distribution precinct, with warehouses and factories suited to a river-adjacent employment area with established freight infrastructure. Yeerongpilly, Moorooka and Sherwood are the closest commercial comparisons.
