Somerset

Somerset is a small township in the Waratah-Wynyard municipality, west of Burnie and on the western bank of the Cam River. Bass Highway is the main street and coastal commercial spine, with Old Cam Road providing a local connection. The township sits between Wynyard and Burnie, with a beach along the coast, the Cam River Reserve and access to the Murchison Highway beside the river.

Somerset is an industrial and distribution precinct, with warehouses and factories supporting manufacturing, heavy machinery and regional trade. Office suites and floors and shopfronts sit along the main street among small local businesses. Burnie, South Burnie and West Ulverstone are nearby comparison markets.
