Phillip is the commercial and geographical centre of Woden Valley in Canberra, about 8 kilometres from the Canberra CBD. Corinna Street and Townshend Street form key parts of the Woden Town Centre, alongside Westfield Woden, the district bus interchange and Lovett Tower, Canberra's tallest commercial office building.

The Woden Town Centre supports an office and consulting market, with office suites and floors alongside medical or consulting suites in a major district centre. Deakin, Griffith and Wright are nearby commercial reference points.
