Parkinson is an outer southern suburb in the City of Brisbane, about 21 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. Southlink Street forms part of the emerging industrial setting, with Resource Street supporting the south-eastern business area. The suburb borders Logan City, with the Mount Lindesay Highway on its eastern edge and the Logan Motorway running through it.

Parkinson is an industrial and distribution precinct, with warehouses and factories suited to businesses using the motorway and rail-corridor connections. Hillcrest, Browns Plains and Larapinta are nearby comparison markets.
