Northam

Northam is a town in Western Australia's Wheatbelt and the largest town and regional centre of the Avon Valley. It stands at the confluence of the Avon and Mortlock Rivers, with Fitzgerald Street and Great Eastern Highway among its commercial addresses. Northam railway station is served by rural train services linking the region with Perth.

Northam has a neighbourhood trading strip, with shopfronts, hospitality premises and warehouses and factories serving a regional centre and its hinterland. Bullsbrook, Midvale and Bellevue, on the metropolitan fringe, offer useful points of comparison.
