Morwell is a town and administrative centre in the City of Latrobe, about 135 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. Commercial Road and Princes Drive form the central city streets, reflecting the route of the former Princes Highway through the town. Morwell is the centre of the Latrobe Valley urban area and has passenger and freight rail connections on the Bairnsdale line.
