Miami is a coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, about 78 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. Gold Coast Highway is the main road and commercial strip, running between the Pacific coast and the inland suburbs. Nobby Beach, Miami Beach and North Burleigh Beach give the area a distinct coastal setting, with frequent bus services along the highway.

The market is an industrial and distribution precinct, with warehouses and factories in the road-oriented commercial stock, supported by medical or consulting suites. Mermaid Beach, Varsity Lakes and Burleigh Heads are nearby comparisons.
