Kurri Kurri

Kurri Kurri is a small Hunter Region town in the City of Cessnock, about 120 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. Its commercial centre is Barton Street and Mitchell Avenue, established town streets serving Kurri Kurri and the surrounding group of towns and hamlets. The area has a strong coal-mining history, including the heritage-listed Richmond Main Colliery in the South Maitland Coalfields.

Kurri Kurri is an industrial and distribution precinct, with warehouses and factories suited to a regional town shaped by its industrial and mining history. The commercial stock serves the wider Kurri Kurri-Abermain area rather than a metropolitan catchment. Nearby markets include Maitland, Rutherford and Cessnock.
