Knoxfield is an eastern Melbourne suburb in the City of Knox, about 27 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. Its commercial centre is Ferntree Gully Road, a main road carrying the Knoxfield Shops and other local activity. The suburb also has the Anne Road shops, giving it two established local shopping strips.

Knoxfield is an industrial and distribution precinct, with warehouses and factories suited to the broader employment areas around its shopping and arterial-road corridors. The commercial stock sits beside a suburban retail setting rather than a central city environment. Nearby markets include Rowville, Scoresby and Ferntree Gully.
