Ivanhoe is a north-east Melbourne suburb in the City of Banyule, about 9 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. Heidelberg Road and Bell Street frame the suburb's commercial setting, with the Upper Heidelberg Road Commercial Centre serving as the local centre. The Centre Ivanhoe occupies the former Heidelberg Town Hall, a classic art-deco building with a green neon clockface, and Ivanhoe and Darebin stations provide rail access.
