Islington

Islington is a suburb of Newcastle in the Hunter Region, about 117 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. Maitland Road is the main arterial commercial road, linking Mayfield with Newcastle West, while Fern Street serves the adjoining local area. The suburb includes a small industrial area, borders the Hunter Institute of Technology campus and is served by Hamilton railway station on the Main Northern line.

Islington is a mixed commercial market, with shopfronts and medical or consulting suites fitting into the arterial-road and local village setting. Hamilton, Wickham and Broadmeadow are nearby markets.
