Hughesdale is a compact south-east Melbourne suburb in the City of Monash, about 14 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. Warrigal Road and Dandenong Road define its principal commercial edges, while the suburb is bordered by Poath Road, Dandenong Road, Warrigal Road and North Road. Hughesdale railway station provides a local commuter connection and is within walking distance of much of the suburb.

Hughesdale is an office and consulting market, with medical or consulting suites forming the most adaptable commercial stock. Warehouses and factories sit within the suburb's more practical employment areas. Oakleigh, Murrumbeena and Huntingdale are nearby markets.
