Cheltenham is a south-eastern Melbourne suburb in the Cities of Bayside and Kingston, about 18 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. Chesterville Road and Bay Road are major commercial and employment approaches, while Westfield Southland forms a large shopping centre in the northern part of the suburb. Cheltenham railway station and Southland station serve the area, with the suburb also marking the starting point for the Suburban Rail Loop.
