Cairns City is the central business district of Cairns in the Cairns Region. Lake Street and Grafton Street form established city-centre streets, with Sheridan Street connecting the CBD to northern Cairns. The suburb sits between Trinity Bay, Trinity Inlet and the railway lines, and contains Cairns railway station, the Esplanade and numerous heritage-listed civic, religious and commercial buildings.

Cairns City is an office and consulting market, with office suites and floors and medical or consulting suites. Premises sit within a compact regional city centre shaped by government, professional services, tourism, transport and established commercial buildings. Parramatta Park, Cairns North and Portsmith are nearby commercial areas.
