Battery Point

Battery Point is a historic Hobart suburb in the City of Hobart, about 1 kilometre from the Hobart CBD. Salamanca Place and Hampden Road form a compact inner-city trading area beside the waterfront, with Castray Esplanade linking the precinct to the harbour edge. The suburb takes its name from the coastal defence battery established in 1818.
