Balwyn is an eastern Melbourne suburb in the City of Boroondara, about 11 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. Whitehorse Road and Balwyn Road form the main local trading strip around their intersection, with the Maranoa Botanic Gardens providing a notable landmark nearby. The suburb is otherwise largely residential, with sealed footpaths and local cycling routes.
