Ashfield is an inner-western suburb in the Inner West Council area, about 8 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. Liverpool Road is the main trading strip south of Ashfield station, with Parramatta Road providing a major road corridor for commercial and light industrial uses. The suburb has a multicultural commercial centre, Ashfield Mall, the former Peek Frean factory tower and a railway station on the Main Suburban line.

Ashfield is an office and consulting market with medical or consulting suites, shopfronts, and office suites and floors. Premises range from street-level shops and medium-sized office blocks near the station to service and light industrial uses along Parramatta Road. Summer Hill, Croydon and Dulwich Hill are nearby comparison markets.
