Ashburton is a south-eastern Melbourne suburb in the City of Boroondara, about 12 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. High Street contains the Ashburton Village shopping strip, with Karnak Road forming part of the local street network. The suburb is close to several universities and education institutions and is served by Ashburton and Alamein railway stations, with bus route 734 along High Street.
