Altona

Altona is a south-western Melbourne suburb in the City of Hobsons Bay, about 14 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. Maidstone Street is the main local trading street, while the north-western part of the suburb contains mixed industry. Altona includes a beach on Port Phillip Bay and has a long petrochemical, manufacturing and distribution history centred on the Altona Refinery and Petrochemical Complex.

Altona is an industrial and distribution precinct with warehouses and factories serving petrochemical storage, manufacturing and distribution uses. The market is concentrated in the mixed industrial area rather than the low-density residential and beachside parts of the suburb. Altona North, Laverton North and Williamstown North are nearby comparison markets.
