Aitkenvale

Aitkenvale is a major commercial and residential district in the City of Townsville. Ross River Road is the main commercial spine, with the suburb containing Townsville's biggest shopping centre and branches of numerous companies. It is Townsville's biggest commercial centre outside the Townsville CBD and is often described as the city's second CBD, with light industrial warehouses and workshops in its north-eastern corner.

Aitkenvale is a metropolitan office centre, with medical or consulting suites and warehouses and factories supporting its broad commercial role. The market combines established business premises with service and industrial uses around the main road network. Pimlico, Douglas and Currajong are nearby comparison markets.
